February 13, 2009. The WTG Starts to Rise Above the High School and the Town.

Today the first (and heaviest, weighing in at 46 tons) WTG tower section was lifted by two high capacity cranes and set into place. The tower base is 'grouted' to ensure a sound and level fit. The epoxy grout needs to set, so the second section will not be put in place until Tuesday February 17. The Nacelle is on the way from Canada and is expected to be barged from Quonset on Tuesday as well. The remainder of the wind turbine is expected to be assembled next week with power operaton the weekend of February 21.
